I’ve been meaning to do a post featuring Percy Jackson for awhile now, and since this week marks the release of the DVD of Sea of Monsters I figured now is a perfect time. In case you missed it, here is the movie trailer:

So, did that get you in the mood for some Percy Jackson teaching resources? 🙂 Well, here you go! Of course, it always makes sense to start with the best, and author Rick Riordan has a page with some fabulous resources, including an entire Lightning Thief unit! There is a Teacher’s Guide, School Project Ideas, Reader’s Guide to the Series, Event Guide, Rick’s Reading Recommendations, and Rationale. There is also an entire collection of additional Educational Resources. Great job Mr. Riordan! You can also check out http://www.percyjacksonbooks.com/ for videos, trivia, and more!

If I was a teacher, there would be a lot of useful things here. I taught school in the mid 80’s Jr High, Sr High and Adult computer classes. My son, who is in the 7th grade, likes the Percy Jackson movies and I think he would like these especially if his teacher at school handed him some pages to do.
