About Me
Hi! I’m so happy that you could drop by Fabulous Classroom. Here is a bit about me:
I wear a lot of hats. My favorite hat says “Mom” but really should say a lot more (i.e., chauffeur, cook, hairstylist, tutor, makeup artist, bank, psychologist…you get the picture). I’ve also been a travel soccer parent for the past 10 years which is an exhausting hat to wear (but I wouldn’t have it any other way).
My prior hats said attorney and elementary Spanish teacher (hated the former, loved the latter). When 3 back surgeries gave me a lot of time, I decided to combine my passion for teaching with my love of color and design in order to create learning resources for both teachers and parents. I began to primarily create Spanish resources that can be found on Teachers Pay Teachers (and are slowly making their way here to this site). I then taught myself Photoshop, Illustrator, and WordPress through a variety of sources, and Fabulous Classroom was born.
I have also used my graphic design and web skills to create numerous logos (including Fabulous Classroom’s), websites, and other media for a wide variety of people and organizations. My favorites are the charity organizations that I donate time to, such as creating the invitation for Chicago’s North Shore Auxiliary of Jewish Child & Family Service’s annual dinner dance. As a passionate educator, I believe that all children, regardless of their backgrounds or social status, should receive the same level of education.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. I live in the Northern Chicago Suburbs with my husband, Jason, 19-year-old son Sam (when he is home from college), and 16-year-old daughter Alexa.
I always LOVE connecting with people, so please contact me whenever you’d like to see a particular blog post, product, or just want to say hi!
Best,
